We caught the train to Zermatt and arrived late in the afternoon. I was anxious to see if we'd even be able to spot the Matterhorn - considering the forecast called for snow and rain for the couple of days that we were there. It was drizzling and the clouds were low, making the perfect atmosphere for exploring town while we waited to check into our hotel.
The next morning, I woke up early to sunny skies and a clear view of the Matterhorn. I knew that the clouds could roll in at any moment, so we grabbed our jackets and hit the streets to enjoy the view.
After an hour or so, the clouds started settling in again, so we stopped at a bakery and stuffed ourselves with breakfast and espresso until the sun came back out. Then we hopped on the train up to the glaciers. It couldn't have been more beautiful.
After our little excursion, we explored town a bit more, indulged in some incredible gelato, went back to our room and made ourselves dinner in our little kitchen.
