It feels good to get back on here! As everyone knows, things have been a little strange this year...very little traveling and a TON of work. We'd planned a couple of weeks in Greece back in January that obviously didn't work out and we were pretty bummed about. We were going to road trip the mainland and maybe even get into Turkey a bit, as well as cross Santorini off of the bucket list. The trip was cancelled at the end of September and I got a flight credit, so I started looking at locations that were open with nice weather that would be relaxing and quiet and quick...the perfect little getaway to soak up the sun, sit in the sand, and drink! Cabo fit the bill, so I booked last-minute flights and 5 nights at an all-inclusive resort on the beach.
I'd booked parking at a hotel in Phoenix through Way.com, so we were driving down early to grab breakfast first and then take their shuttle to the airport. As we were driving through Anthem, I had Brian call to confirm that we'd be arriving a little earlier than scheduled and they informed us that their shuttle was operating due to Covid. We immediately called his parents, as we were in Anthem anyway, and they were home and offered to take us! I can't believe how perfectly it worked out! We took his dad to breakfast and then he dropped us off for our flight. The trip went off without a hitch and was pretty perfect. Our resort was at 30% capacity and it seemed like the other resorts along the beach were much more rowdy. We had a quiet spot overlooking the famous arch with our very own cocktail waiter that kept our cups full. Basically, we ate, drank, slept, sunbathed, got couples massages (two of them to be exact), and walked on the beach. Not a lot of adventure, but lots of relaxation.
